In this year\u2019s second Morning Health Talk, we\u2019ll tackle the myths circulating about Spin-outs.<\/p>

At LUI\u2019s virtual discussion event\u00a0Morning Health Talk: Busting Spin-out Myths<\/strong>, under the auspices of\u00a0EIT Health<\/a>, we will look for solutions to transfer technologies more effectively to general use. With renowned Slovenian and foreign experts from academic and corporate circles, we will delve into the following myths:<\/p>

  1. The innovation is so good\u00a0it will sell itself.<\/strong><\/li>
  2. If a researcher decides to spin-out, he\u00a0no longer retains<\/strong>\u00a0his place as a researcher.<\/li>
  3. The research institution and\/or the mentoring professor\u00a0get the largest share<\/strong>\u00a0in the spin-out.<\/li>
  4. A license agreement<\/strong>\u00a0is the only possible model of technology transfer.<\/li>
  5. University or the research institution plays\u00a0a big role in the possible failure<\/strong>\u00a0of the spin-out.<\/li>
  6. The spin-out must remain close to the research institution.<\/li>
  7. Spin-outs are an\u00a0administrative and a financial burden<\/strong>\u00a0for the research institution.<\/li>
  8. Getting\u00a0more support<\/strong>\u00a0in the initial spin-out phase by research institutions.<\/li><\/ol>
